In Pursuit of Dorothie:  The Lost Colony Ship
With Lucy Daniels

The Museum of the Albemarle will host our monthly History for Lunch on Wednesday, April 6, 2022, at 12 p.m.  Lucy Daniels, coauthor and registered nurse, will explore the abandoned first colony in 1587 by English explorers through her book In Pursuit of Dorothie:  The Lost Colony Ship.  Daniels took 20 years of research by historian Don Upchurch that began with the original narratives written by first English colonists and captains who sailed the surrounding sounds and rivers.  The history abounds on the shores and may hide the decaying remains of the only ship left from the abandoned colony, Dorothie.

The Museum will offer the History for Lunch in-person and through Zoom.  Register in advance through the Museum’s Facebook page or website to receive link to attend lecture virtually.

The virtual program is supported by Southern Bank and Biggs Cadillac Buick GMC of Elizabeth City.
