The following major site plan application was submitted and will be reviewed by the TRC (January 12, 2022):

  • Scot Stor, Inc.:  The applicant submitted a major site plan application for the purpose of expanding the existing self storage facility located at 152 Sawyertown Road.  The request includes  19,800 sf of expansion.

The following text amendment was submitted and will be reviewed by the TRC (January 12, 2022), PB (tentative date: March 8, 2022); and BOC (tentative date:  April 4, 2022):

  • Scot Stor, Inc.:  The applicant submitted a text amendment application to exempt nonconforming warehouse expansions from the self-service storage specific standards in Section 4.2.5. of the UDO.

The following land use plan amendment was submitted and will be reviewed by the TRC (January 12, 2022), PB (tentative date:  March 8, 2022) and BOC (tentative date:  TBD* ):

  • Hans Theyer.:  The applicant submitted a land use plan amendment to the future land use map for property owned by Midlantic Builders, LLC in Corolla off Ponton Lane.  The request is to change land area from conservation to full service.

* The LUP amendment will require notice of public hearing posted not less than 30 calendar days before the public hearing.

The following special use permit application was submitted and will be reviewed by the TRC (January 12, 2022), PB (tentative date*: March 8, 2022); and BOC (tentative date:  TBD*):

  • Hans Theyer.:  The applicant submitted a special use permit application to allow auto repair service and temporary vehicle impoundment on property owned by Midlantic Builders, LLC in Corolla off Ponton Lane.  The proposed construction includes a 30’x30’ garage and a 10’x15 separate office building.

*A LUP amendment is required.

 

QUASI-JUDICIAL DECISIONS

The following cases were submitted and will require the board to make a quasi-judicial decision.  Board members are not allowed to discuss the case or gather evidence outside of the hearing.  You may view the property in question before the hearing, but may not talk about the case with the applicant, neighbors, or staff outside of the hearing. 

  • The Fost Tract:  The applicant , Moyock Development, LLC,  submitted a preliminary plat/use permit application for Phases 6-9 of the Fost Tract in Moyock.  The phases include 39 townhouses and 139 single family lots.
  • Monteray Shores, PUD:  The applicant/owner, Outer Banks Ventures, Inc.,  submitted an amended sketch plan and use permit application to add 36 units (25 townhomes, 5 single family lots, and 6 upper-story dwellings) within a phase in the planned unit development located at the southern end of Monteray Shores.  The property is owned by Outer Banks Ventures, Inc.
  • Flora Farms:  The applicant, North-South Development, LLC, submitted an application for preliminary plat/special use permit for 277 residential lots and 7,500 square feet of commercial.  The property is located on Survey Road and NC 168 and is owned by John J. Flora, III and Mary Nell Flora Brumsey.
  • Magnolia Estates:  The owner and applicant, Raw NC LLC, submitted an application for preliminary plat/special use permit for 53 residential lots on South Lou Sawyer Road in Moyock.
