Committees and Programs

Events that invite member participation:

Small Business Roundtable Discussions provide a forum for business leaders to come together to network, discuss business issues, needs, and success stories, local government plans, legislation and regulations impacting our business community today and/or the potential to do so in the future, community resources, strategies for sales, referrals and networking, shoulder and off-season business drivers and planning, recruiting and employment opportunities and concerns.  Be sure to bring your business cards!

Business after Hour Events provides an opportunity for members to make valuable new business contacts in a relaxed social setting. The more connected you are, the more opportunities you have to increase sales, make wise investments, influence opinion and hire the best people. That is the power of partnership.

Training workshops are offered for our Currituck business owners and staff, and include topics such as networking, sales, business planning, human resources, recruiting, compliance, customer service, time management and retirement.  Additional workshops will continue to be added based on your input!

The Currituck Business Expo and Job Fair, held each year in March, is an opportunity for Currituck businesses, community organizations, government agencies, and non-profit groups to market themselves and their products/services to the local community, as well as to other businesses and organizations.

Volunteer Opportunities in Currituck, NC:

The Government Affairs & Economic Development Committee provides members the opportunity to know what is happening at the Currituck County Government level. It provides members with a “seat at the table” to work with Currituck County Government elected officials and designates. Opportunities for participating members include:

  • Work directly with government agencies
  • Meet with local government officials to address local business needs
  • Be a voice for our members at local government meetings
  • Emphasize infrastructure improvements and regulatory environment
  • Participate in future planning discussions and articulate needs

Currituck Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors serve as a liaison between the business owners and the Chamber.  Committee members act as front line representatives for the Currituck Chamber of Commerce at public and Chamber sponsored events/activities. Ambassadors have the opportunity to play a pivotal role assisting with the promotion, support and development of various Chamber sponsored events and networking.

  • Morning Business Roundtable Discussions
  • After Hours Events
  • Ribbon Cuttings
  • Chamber Expo and Job Fair (March)
  • Spring Social (April)
  • Chamber Open House
  • Membership Drives
  • Small Business Saturday events
  • Annual Golf Tournament (Fall)
  • Chamber Small Business Awards (Fall)

Ambassadors act as champions and proponents for the Chamber of Commerce and its members by promoting their goods and services to other members and potential members, providing leads and information about new businesses, business expansions, closings, change of location or ownership, additional services and job openings.

The Ambassador Committee is a great way to get to know others in the business community, network for your own business, be a voice for the community and support the Chamber!
